Reviews lately have been a little bit mixed but most people have enjoyed their stay a lot and had many good things to say about it. If you stay here, try to find a deal. The rooms, activities and food are all said to be a bit expensive.

There are mixed reviews on the service. While some say it's "nonexistent", others say they are cheerful and friendly. As with many things, your opinion of the service depends on your expectations. Overall, the most complaints revolve around the front desk service.

You should know that as a cost saving measure, one reviewer was told (after his rooms wasn't cleaned) that they are only cleaning rooms during the week.

American Beach, Amelia Island, FL One perk is their dog friendly rooms. The guest rooms have been redone recently. You have the choice of a guest rooms, suite or a condo.

The food is noted as being "not bad" but expensive. Sometimes it is excellent. Also note that a 20% tip is added to your bill. You can always take the option of eating off the plantation.

You have the option of booking a room with a kitchen where you can cook for yourself. 

There are a number of activities you can take part in. The golf course is nice with special rates for guests (although some consider this still too expensive). There's a spa with body treatments, facials and massages. If you have kids, you can send them to the kids camp. There's a number of activities for kids and teens.

Other activities include swimming, kayaking, fishing (fresh and saltwater), nature programs, 23-courts racket center and bicycling. You'll also find a health and fitness room. 

There is an all-inclusive package you can take. It includes all meals and all recreation. It's only a good choice if you want to spend your time only at the resort. Be aware that there are a lot of great golf courses and restaurants around the island.
