As an avid skier, I had heard many good things about Mt Baker Ski Resort and was eager to experience it for myself. I was not disappointed. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the resort's natural beauty and rustic charm. The surrounding mountains and forests were covered in a thick blanket of snow, making for a truly picturesque winter wonderland.
Mt Baker ski resort is located in Glacier, Whatcom County, Washington. One special thing about it is that it has the highest annual snow fall in the entire world. If you like a lot of snow, this is the place for you!
But I wasn't there just to admire the scenery. I was there to ski, and Mt Baker did not disappoint in that regard either. The resort boasts a variety of runs and terrain, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging expert terrain. I particularly enjoyed the steep and deep powder runs, which were among the best I've ever experienced. The snow quality was exceptional, thanks to the resort's high elevation and abundant snowfall. It's no wonder that Mt Baker is often ranked as one of the top ski resorts in North America.
In addition to the skiing, I appreciated the resort's amenities and services. The lodges were comfortable and cozy, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The on-mountain dining options were plentiful and offered a range of cuisine, from burgers and fries to sushi and sake. I also took advantage of the ski school programs, which were top-notch and provided expert instruction and guidance for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
Nestled in the heart of the historic Fairhaven district, the Fairhaven Village Inn is a delightful place to stay for a cozy winter retreat. The inn's Victorian-style architecture and warm hospitality create a welcoming and charming atmosphere that instantly puts guests at ease. During my stay, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the little touches that made the inn feel like a home away from home.
My room at the inn was spacious and comfortable, with a fireplace, a comfortable bed, and a view of the snow-covered streets outside. I appreciated the modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and high-speed internet, which made my stay all the more comfortable. In addition, the inn's location in the heart of Fairhaven made it easy to explore the charming neighborhood's shops, restaurants, and galleries.
One of the highlights of my stay at the Fairhaven Village Inn was the delicious breakfast, which was included in the room rate. The breakfast offerings were varied and tasty, with a range of hot and cold options, such as pancakes, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, and fresh fruit. The dining room was cozy and inviting, with a fireplace and plenty of natural light.
While the Fairhaven Village Inn is a delightful destination on its own, it's also a convenient base for exploring the nearby Mt Baker Ski Resort. The resort is just a short drive away, and the inn offers a ski package that includes lift tickets, transportation, and breakfast. After a long day on the slopes, it was lovely to return to the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the inn and relax by the fire.
